Creatus' Chill-out Day!

19 June 2007 was our company's chillout day. We started the day at 9am with breakfast and an impressive presentation of Creatus' history. Simon sharedwith us how he started his very first event outside East Coast Park MacDonald playground with just a lorry and a few workers, and himself being the driver! Watching through his video library of past events was like going thru a time capsule. The amount of work we have accomplished was simply astonishing and unbelievable. How I wish I had join Creatus earlier to experience it all, especially when seeing all the bikini babes we have hired for most of our events :)

Following the presentation, we also had an interactive session of personal SWOT discussion and self-exploration. We talked about our individual strength and weakness with everyone having a turn to speak including Simon himself. I can fully understand his intention as he hopes to strengthen our individual weakness thru teamwork.

By the time we finished, it was already close to noon. Just as we were thinking that we are going back to our office to work, Simon actually surprised us by telling us to go to the cable-ski lagoon! He has actually book an hour of cable-ski fun for all of us. No wonder he told us to bring our swimwear the day before ... we knew something was up his sleeves .... Well that got everyone excited! Look at the pictures and you will see how much fun we had ... not to mentioned the bruised asses

Everyone was totally exhausted after the cable-skiing. Seeing us so hungry and tired, Simon suggested we go Mustafa for some roti prata. However while we were traveling halfway to Mustafa, everyone’s phone received a sms from Simon. He has actually plan a mini wireless adventure challenge in Mustafa!

And so we begin our little challenge. Our task was to find all the items he sends us with a picture taken beforehand. The winner will win for himself $50 cash! At first, we thought how hard can it be to find something in Mustafa, but we soon realize our naive thinking. We basically ran up and down the whole Mustafa many times till the security guard was staring at us fiercely. Finally through the combined effort of Ivan, Hector and myself, we managed to beat the rest to the challenge. I could still remember clearly the moment when the 3 of us ran towards Simon’s MX5 park at Rowell road with him waving the $50 at us.

Our next chillout is going to be the premiere screening of Transformers .... !!!!

Dell SADMG Partners Conference 2007 - Bali, Indonesia

Between 21 and 25 May, I was on site to kick off the Dell SADMG Partners Conference held at Laguna Resort & Spa at Nusa Dua, Bali. I arrived 12.15pm to start my sleepless nights.

There were many pleasant surprises that awaited me. To begin with, the balinese team I had the priviledge of working with was amazingly efficient! Thanks to you Harry, Renato, Shary, Phina and Yetty. I would also like to give special thanks to all the friends & staff of Laguna Resort & Spa for being the most accommodating bunch of frontliners! You guys were great! Especially Eka and Sandra!
On 21 May, the team and I were busy sorting out the final details of delegate arrivals. We were expecting delegates/Dell partners & distributors from all over the Region on 22 May. Besides that, we were trying to resolve the issue of our shipment of collaterals coming in from Singapore as they were held back at the customs. I did a recee of the hotel and was pleasantly surprised that the meeting rooms were all set-up and ready to go. They were in the process of completing the backdrop to be used for the conference in the main ballroom. At about 6.30pm, we headed to Jimbaran Bay where dinner will be held on 23 May. Jimbaran Bay is a stretch of beach with over 100 restaurants! Harry and I headed to Ganesha Pudak Cafe and after checking out the place, discussing on where to place the banners and on how to deco the place for an impactful evening, we settled for some seafood dinner. The food especially the fish were so fresh and yummy!

I shall not bore you with details of the event. As you can already tell, I can be rather long-winded! hahaha...so instead, I am gonna post a few pictures for your viewing pleasure :) My only regret in Bali was not being able to soak-up the balinese flavor as it was all work :( I am looking forward to going back there for a holiday and besides a successful event this time round, I also made some great friends that made this event more meaningful.
